Uncork your passion for wine

NSCC is offering a number of evening courses that explore the wonderful world of wine. Led by Sommelier Amy Savoury, the classes are fun, interactive and hands-on that build an understanding of all components of wine enjoyment and establish the foundation for lifelong wine appreciation. Courses offered this fall are:

•Wine Tasting: Learn to Taste Wine Like a Pro (October 19th to November 30th, Wednesday Evenings, 6pm to 9pm)

The art and science of wine tasting involves developing a clear understanding of your own sense of sight, smell, taste and feel. It is through this sensory evaluation and development that will advance your skills and confidence to recognize the many different attributes in wine that make each bottle unique. This is an engaging, interactive seven week course that is essential for any wine lover as it will develop your senses and advance your wine vocabulary. By the end of the course you will be tasting, describing, purchasing and recommending wine like a pro!

•Wine Uncorked (November 3rd to November 24th, Thursday Evenings, 6:30pm to 9pm)

Spend an enjoyable four evenings uncorking the mysteries of the vast world of wine. Whether you're an enthusiastic beginner or someone who already has an interest in wine, this workshop is for you. Throughout the course we will explore the wonders of wine; from taking a closer look at the fascinating regions where wine is produced, to gaining an understanding of the many grapes that wine is produced from. The focus will be on fun, interactive hands-on learning as we de-construct wine and build your understanding of all components of wine enjoyment. Together we will embark on a sensory journey into the wonderful world of wine and begin to build a solid foundation for lifelong wine appreciation.
